Michael Jackson released "Billy Jean" & "Beat It" and Boy George with the Culture Club hit the charts with "Do you really want to hurt me". People were lining up to get the red zipper jacket with silver glitter glove or braiding their hair and wearing dinner jackets. Me, not so much, but when "Flash Dance" released, I was wearing the baggy sweaters with tights!
But, what became a life turning event (can you really have a life turning event at 8 years of age?), Mom & Dad were taking me to Disneyland! I know, some of you are rolling your eyes, but this was an adventure.
With my older sister & myself wearing matching corduroy overalls, we got to go into the cockpit of the plane and checkout all the neat gadgets and stuff. Because we were such great co-pilots, we were given 'our wings'...which I still have to this day.
What else do I remember of this fantastic trip? Not much to tell you the truth. I remember Mom not loading the camera with film, so we only ended up with 4 pictures of this trip, and only one not blurred or with the heads cut off.

Going to Disneyland will end up being a reoccurring event for me in the years to come. But this is where my passion for travel came from.
